This outstanding collection illustrates the beginnings of Islamic art and sheds light on the period from the 7th-11th centuries.

The exhibition concentrates on today's regions of Iran, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan and shows everyday metal items such as kitchen utensils, ladles, spoons, pestle and mortars. Other exhibits include vases, funnels, eye make-up flacons, oil lamps and jewellery.
